There Be Treasure to Plunder, Matey...

A Word About Knives and Authenticity

While there be some types of knives connected to specific times in history, lets face it,  We Pirates use all types of knives and anything that we can steal, plunder, trade or otherwise acquire will find it's way onto a ship. Basically anything that be pointed and can be sharpened will do the trick. Some be big, some not so big.  We be presenting for yer enjoyment different types of knives from the late 13th century to the 19th century.  Styles appropriate to Europe, America, and even some Exotics from other Ports around the World. Yes this be a huge time period and while it extends before and after the "Golden Age Of Piracy", there have always been  and always will be, Pirates.

A Pirate's knife be one of his/her most personal and prized belongings, as his very life may depend on it at any moment. So pick a knife ( or two, or three) that fit yer Pirate self, and if any  "Authentic Pirates" take offense at yer  time period inappropriate sticker, invite them to discover for themselves that it does in fact do the trick.

All Steel Stiletto

Stilettos were light, easy to carry and often worn like jewelry by both men and women. In use throughout the European Renaissance, they were common at the feast table. Our version has a triangular shaped blade which is deeply fullered on all three sides and comes to a very keen point. The grip and pommel are turned in steel as is the typical short guard. The hardwood handle is carved with a chevron like pattern copied from an original of the same time period. For those with a serious interest in the Highlands, this is a must for any collection. Venetian Stiletto

On a trip to Venice we were touring the Doge's Palace and admiring the weapons when a particularly beautiful stiletto caught our eye, which we have reproduced here. Centuries old, its elegantly crafted contours and unique triangular blade were obviously shaped by a master; for the dagger shone with a positively happy wickedness. Stilettos come in many sizes, from delicate little hideout weapons to forthright long daggers suitable for use even as a main gauche, but this is certainly one of the more attractive ones we've come across. Blade face is beautifully hollowed. Grip is wood. Stiletto comes complete with sheath. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.
